Ghost Doctor might be the next big hit following its promising premiere, the director believes so.
In 2021, it had been confirmed that Rain would mark his return in the Bu Seong Cheol-directed series Ghost Doctor. It became his latest project following Welcome 2 Life in 2019. He works with several A-listers in the series, including Uee, Kim Bum, and Son Na Eun.
The series tells the story of two doctors with different backgrounds and completely opposite personalities. Rain's Cha Young Min is a genius surgeon but arrogant and selfish, while Kim Bum' Go Seung Tak is considered the luckiest and richest resident doctor since he is the son of Myungshin Hospital's chairman.
Despite the characters' contradicting traits, their actors actually did well in maintaining harmony on the series' set.

If Rain is the engine, then Kim Bum is the headlights."

In the series, their characters exchanged their souls; thus, the two actors should also know how the other acts their character.
"When Rain is in my body, I had to do his lines, and he had to do my lines sometimes as well. We had to memorize all of each other's lines. That was a new experience for me," Kim Bum said.
Rain, for his part, also did the same and had more concentration than usual.
