Geoff Johns to Reportedly Complete Green Lantern Movie Script by the End of 2019

It looks like Warner Brothers is still developing its Green Lantern Corps movie.

Though there's been very little news about the film project, a new report by Variety confirms that Green Lantern Corps is still on the way. According to the entertainment news outlet, former DC President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns is working hard on the film's script. The pages are set to be delivered by the writer by the end of the year.

It's taken a while for Johns to finish the script for Green Lantern Corps, however, the comic book writer and television producer has told fans in previous interviews that he wants to take time with the project because he wants to get the movie right. We're hoping that all that effort is going to pay off and that fans are finally going to get a great Green Lantern movie.

Though Warner Brothers has yet to smoothen out its plans for the project, Green Lantern Corps is reportedly going to be part of DC's film slate. After Johns finishes the script, Variety suggests that the project may be sent over to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker director J.J. Abrams and his production outfit, Bad Robot.

Abrams and Bad Robot just recently signed a major deal with Warner Brothers, and part of the agreement is for the filmmaker to create and produce projects for the studio.

We hope that we'll learn more about what Johns has planned for Green Lantern Corps as the project continues with its development.
