General Hospital has continued to gain a massive fanbase, but they didn't like seeing a rerun. On Wednesday, General Hospital's official Twitter account made an announcement that didn't please fans.

"Due to ongoing breaking news coverage, today's scheduled episode of General Hospital will now air tomorrow. #GH," the tweet read.

General Hospital Viewers Were Wondering About The Breaking News

New episodes of General Hospital are supposed to air on weekdays from Monday to Friday, although delays are inevitable. On Oct. 6, many couldn't understand why the network didn't drop a new episode. They were wondering what the "breaking news" that could lead to the delay was.

"Um, what breaking news coverage?" one asked.

"I guess they must be expecting something to happen," another added.

"I follow news more than I follow soaps, and that's saying something. So, this is perplexing me cause there's nothing happening," a third wrote.

Meanwhile, another user explained that there had been a school shooting, and at least four were shot. The shooter was or is still at large, another netizen explained. A second user suggested that the network was probably referring to the school shooting in Texas.

Why General Hospital Viewers Were Upset With The Rerun?

Those who have been watching the daytime TV soap opera were upset for different reasons. Some were looking forward to the next, and others didn't like to watch the rerun episode again.

"Do you realize how many viewers were upset by the rerun, not because it was one, but because it showed us Frizz again?" @rshak8 commented. "The needless killing of Franco and wrecking Friz never have happened. Heading in the wrong direction sir."

Meanwhile, some couldn't wait to watch a fresh episode because they wanted to see Jason (Steve Burton) and Carly (Laura Wright) admitting their feelings to each other. So, a single-day delay felt like forever for them, Looper reported.
