Game of Thrones Shares First Image from Prequel Series House of the Dragon

It's finally happening: the Game of Thrones prequel series is deep into development and the first image from House of the Dragon has just been revealed.

The concept art for the new show was shared by the official Game of Thrones Twitter account. The tweet also confirms that the highly anticipated prequel series will finally begin production next year. Check it out below.

"Dragons are coming. #HouseoftheDragon begins production in 2021," the caption reads.

This is excellent news for fans who have been waiting for updates on House of the Dragon. After all, some were already worried that the show might be cancelled just like the previous prequel series that almost starred Naomi Watts. However, we're still hoping this particular show gets to air on HBO soon.

Not much is known about House of the Dragon other than the show focusing on the Targaryens. There have been previous reports that Paddy Considine has been cast as King Viserys Targaryen. However, there are no other names attached to the series just yet. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

House of the Dragon is expected to be based on George R.R. Martin's book Fire and Blood which also focused on House Targaryen. The series could reveal how the Targaryens rose to power thousands of years ago. Although this means we won't be seeing Daenerys Targaryen in the show, we're still looking forward to more dragons being put into action soon.
