The Great War, or the Battle of Winterfell, if you will, is finally over. Now it's time to prepare for the Last War. But before that, the first images from Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 focuses on the aftermath of The Long Night.
HBO has just released the first photos from the next episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 and it's evident that everyone is feeling a little glum. Although they managed to defeat the Night King (thanks to Arya Stark), they also lost so many and these people deserve to be honored.
House Stark stands with The Hound, Ser Davos Seaworth, and their fellow Northmen as they all look out at the several corpses of those who defended Winterfell.
Daenerys Targaryen is joined by her own supporters Grey Worm, Varys, Missandei, Tyrion Lannister and the remaining Unsullied. Is the Dragon Queen looking for Jorah Mormont among the bodies?
Jon Snow, as always, is in a brooding mood. We can't really blame him because he might have spotted his old friend Edd Tollett in the many corpses they now need to burn.
All the leaders are shown walking up to the bodies with torches. Tormund Giantsbane also has a torch and Samwell Tarly appears to be ready to burn the corpses as well (and blocking our view of Ghost in this picture).
Daenerys, Missandei, and Varys appear to be listening to the next action plan. How are they going to attack King's Landing?
Meanwhile, Euron Greyjoy may have finally given Cersei Lannister something to smile about. Have the elephants of the Golden Company finally been brought to King's Landing?
Daenerys also found something to smile about while Drogon lurks behind her. Perhaps Jon had decided to abdicate the throne so she could claim it.
Finally, the Targaryen ships are moving again. Could they be heading for King's Landing? Or are they just arriving at Winterfell?
Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 4 will air on HBO on May 5.
