Game Of Thrones: Nicholas Hoult Admits Auditioning For Jon Snow Role

There is little doubt that the casting of Game of Thrones has been truly amazing as the producers found the best actors to play the characters of George R.R. Martin's books. But can you imagine Nicholas Hoult as the King in the North? The X-Men: Dark Phoenix star has just revealed that he actually auditioned for the part of Jon Snow in the HBO series.

Hoult recently spoke to Page Six about the audition, admitting that it happened while he was working on another fantasy project.

"I think I auditioned for Jon Snow," Hoult said. "I remember it because I was filming Clash of the Titans at the time, so I had long hair extensions. They gave me a ponytail and also a very patchy fake tan. So I remember being like, ‘This is probably not what they're hoping for,' and it obviously wasn't."

Interestingly, Hoult actually seems like a good choice for Jon Snow based on the character's appearance in the books. Jon is described as tall and lean with dark hair and grey eyes, which pretty much fits Hoult. Nevertheless, Kit Harington has already proven that he is perfect for the role.

Although Hoult didn't get the part of Jon in Game of Thrones, he would go on to nab the role of Hank McCoy aka Beast in the X-Men films. In addition to that, he is playing the young J.R.R. Tolkien (one of Martin's greatest influences) in Tolkien. Either way, Hoult's career continued to take off although he never had to say, "She is my queen" over and over again.

Game of Thrones Season 8 will conclude on May 19.
