Game of Thrones Actress Admits She Kept Iconic Shame Bell

Ted Lasso star and Emmy winner Hannah Waddingham has been on the roll lately because of her beloved role in the Apple TV+ series and all the award recognition that she's been getting. But before she became Rebecca Welton, she played Septa Unella in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones.

In case you forget, Septa Unella was the character who walked Cersei Lannister throughout the streets of King's Landing while ringing a bell and shouting "Shame!" as humiliation during the fifth season. The sequence became one of the most memorable moments in the show's eight-season run.

During Waddingham's recent appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the actress confirmed that she actually kept the iconic "shame bell" that she used in the series. "That's when you know your character is really dead when they give you the hero thing. 'And thank you very much and goodbye,'" she said with a laugh. "I feel like I've been very lucky that these huge shows have just gone 'come in and do this.'"

Septa Unellas was last seen during the end of the sixth season when Cersei imprisoned her after the Faith of the Seven was overthrown. She was tortured for days as Cersei demanded her to admit her sins, but she refused. As a result, Cersei locked her in a cell with The Mountain, leaving her fate ambiguous to the viewers.

There's no denying that the iconic "shame" scene has integrated into pop culture, not just on the list of memorable Game of Thrones moments. Even if you didn't watch the series, there is a chance that you're familiar with the scene because of the countless parodies that have been done on the internet. You can even download an app where you can recreate the moment in real life with your friends and family.
