Game of Thrones 8: The Funny Reason Behind Bran's Creepy Stare

One of the biggest memes to come out of the first episode of Game of Thrones 8 was ‘creepy Bran' where everyone just pokes fun at Bran staring creepily at anyone in the show. As it turns out, there's actually a fun reason behind the stare.

Talking during Jimmy Kimmel Live, Isaac Hempstead Wright reveals the reason he ‘stares into people's souls' when he's on camera—he can't see.

The bit starts at 5:10:

"I've got this kind of instense stare, but it's actually aided by the fact that I'm completely blind when I'm on set; I don't have my glasses and I don't have contact lenses… They're not that thick, but I need them to see."

Hempstead goes on to talk about this fun story he had with co-star Sophie Turner (Sansa). He says:

"I could just remember I was doing one scene in Season 7 with Sophie Turner who plays Sansa, and she says, ‘Isaac, your stare is like, you're staring into my soul,' and I was like, ‘I can't see you.'"

Admittedly Bran has become one of the less human characters on the show, but that doesn't make him any less interesting. He seems a key character when it comes to this final season, and though I'm kind of expecting him to die, I'm curious how he'll be playing an integral role in the Battle of Winterfell and beyond.
