Fruits Basket Season 3 Trailer Released and Opening Theme Song "Pleasure" Revealed

Placing near the top of our list of most anticipated new titles of the spring, fans have some pretty lofty expectations from Fruits Basket Season 3. Luckily for all of us, the new promotional video which hit the internet on Friday, March 12th only serves to excite fans of the series even more before it premieres on April 5th!

While the new promotional video doesn't reveal any new information regarding the cast or crew, it does reveal new story beats not seen in the last promotional video.

In addition to the new promotional video seen above, the official website posted an update which reveals the theme song artists for the last season; the Japanese-Chinese band WARPs UP are performing the opening theme song titled "Pleasure" while the band GENIC will perform the ending theme song "Haru Urarara" (Beautiful Spring).

We know for certain at this point that Funimation will stream Fruits Basket Season 3 dubbed in English though with the worldwide pandemic still raging in the United States, when that simulcast will appear is completely up in the air. Crunchyroll has also simulcast the series as it airs in Japan and will probably continue to do so with new episodes going live shortly after they air in Japan.

Originally a shojo manga series created by Natsuki Takaya which ran from 1998 to 2006 in Hana to Yume magazine. It was collected in 23 volumes and was originally adapted into an anime in 2001. Unfortunately, that anime only adapted part of the manga's story and ran into problems when the original creator and anime director disagreed on the presentation.

In 2019, a brand new anime adaptation with an entirely new cast and crew which was promised to tell the entire story premiered and fans fell in love with the franchise all over again. With animation produced by TMS Entertainment and 8PAN, the series is directed by Yoshihide Ibata working off scripts written by Taku Kishimoto. Takaya has also served as an executive supervisor since the start of the new adaptation.

Fruits Basket Season 3 will be one of the best anime of the year. I'm going out on a limb and calling that shot right now. With the animation and storytelling quality presented, it would take something monumentally disastrous to derail the momentum that this series has going for it thus far.
