Former X-Men Star Wants To Join The MCU

Now that Marvel seemingly confirmed Patrick Stewart for the Doctor Strange sequel Multiverse of Madness, the hype for the film is getting bigger. Fan's speculation about characters who are making a cameo for the film and theories about locations and characters spotted in the trailer are continuously surfacing online.

Now that X-Men leader, Charles Xavier was teased in the trailer, X-Men fans think that there will be some other X-Men characters who will appear in the film. Rumors are also swirling online that a variant of Wolverine will be appearing in the film, however, it won’t be Hugh Jackman. We also had a glimpse on what seems to be Savage Land, a location tied with the X-Men universe, specifically to Magneto, in the Comics.

It seems that Marvel is finally bringing the X-Men to the MCU and the sequel will also lead for their debut. From the recent box-office hit Spiderman: No Way Home, the Multiverse can easily open any possibilities for future projects. Characters from the different franchises can reprise their roles once again and make a comeback in future films. Some actors from the past have expressed their interest in coming back to star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

One particular character who expressed interest in reprising his role from the X-Men is Kodi Smit-McPhee, who is known for his portrayal of the X-Men character, Nightcrawler. He shares his excitement about Patrick Stewart’s teaser in the Multiverse of Madness trailer, commenting "equally as excited as everyone else, y’know Patrick Stewart’s voice, that’s insane."

"I can honestly, transparently tell you, I have nothing to do with the universe of madness that’s coming out…Y’know and that trailer, I was equally as excited as everyone else, y’know Patrick Stewart’s voice, that’s insane. Y’know, I’m hoping that the, kind of, the people that show up in that are just as exciting as No Way Home, ’cause I’ve never heard anyone scream, y’know, audiences scream as loud as they did in that. I went to see it at a drive-in, I went to see it at cinemas, everyone was freaking out, and I was freaking out with them so…I would love that personally, like if I could just say that transparently on the side, I would absolutely love that."

McPhee also answered a question on his involvement in the film, noting that he just hopes to be ‘a part of that family one day.’

“I just really am a believer in MCU and I’ve made it a thing to kind of hold off and…going into any other production companies doing superhero stuff because I just believe in MCU so much and I hope to be a part of that family one day. Y’know, we all know that they own the rights to Nightcrawler and stuff now so…hint, hint, nudge, nudge."

Now that Marvel is set to introduce X-Men characters in the MCU, it wouldn’t be surprising if other X-Men characters will come back to reprise their roles. Seeing characters like Storm, Jean Grey, Magneto, and Nightcrawler in the future interacting with the MCU characters would be an interesting view.

Disney had also bought 20th Century Fox last 2019 and Marvel now owns the right for the X-Men characters. It would be plausible why the X-Men characters are being teased to come back at Phase 4 of the MCU.

Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness will premiere on the big screens on May 6.
