Former Batgirl Alicia Silverstone Reacts to Leslie Grace's Suit

There is little doubt that people are excited to see the new Batgirl later this year. However, there was a time when Barbara Gordon was played by Alicia Silverstone. So what does the Batman and Robin star think about Leslie Grace taking over the role? Silverstone has shared her reaction to Grace's suit in the upcoming HBO Max film!

Alicia Silverstone played Batgirl in Batman and Robin which also starred George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell (not to mention the infamous suits with nipples). Back then, the Clueless actress had been vocal about how uncomfortable the suit was so it's no surprise that she is a huge fan of the one Leslie Grace will be wearing in the movie.

"I think she's going to be wonderful," Silverstone said of Grace during an interview with ComicBookMovie. "Her costume looks amazing and I'm happy for her. She must be very excited. Her costume looks way more comfortable than mine was. And a lot less vulnerable!"

It's certainly a more enthusiastic response compared to what netizens were saying about the new Batgirl suit. Needless to say, it's great to know that Alicia Silverstone is supporting Leslie Grace as the new Barbara Gordon.

But is there any chance that Silverstone would reprise the role in a different DC Extended Universe project? Interestingly, Silverstone is open to the idea of playing Batgirl from a different universe.

"I'm open to whatever the world brings me, right? I'll see what happens and flow," she said.

Batgirl is being directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah from a screenplay by Christina Hodson. The film will also star J. K. Simmons, Brendan Fraser, and Michael Keaton. Ivory Aquino was recently cast as Alysia Yeoh, Barbara Gordon's best friend.

For now, Batgirl has not yet been given an official release date. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
