You'll be glad to know that not only is October 27th the theatrical window for the FNAF movie, but this will simultaneously be available to stream on Peacock on the same day.

Friday Nights at Freddy's Faced Production Delays

The live adaptation of the Five Nights at Freddy's project started way back in April 2015 under Warner Bros. Studios with Gil Kenan set to helm the film.

However, the production faced a couple more setbacks and delayed its production further. Stuck in development hell in 2017, the FNAF game-to-movie adaptation was then moved to Blumhouse Productions.

Unfortunately, the film hit another snag when screenplay writer Scott Cawthon was redrafting the script, leading director Christopher Columbus to leave the project in 2021.

It was only by October 2022 that Blumhouse Productions confirmed that Emma Tammi would be helming the project, with Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback penning the script.

Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) is set to take the spotlight as the main protagonist in Five Nights at Freddy's as the night shift security guard.

Matthew Lillard plays the opposite, as the main antagonist. He happens to be the co-founder of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza and the main creator of the animatronics.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Lail (You, Once Upon a Time) plays Vanessa, whom fans will recognize as Vanny the security guard in the FNAF game, Security Breach. She also happens to suffer from being possessed by the spirit of William Afton.

Another antagonist for the FNAF movie includes Mary Stuart Masterson whose undisclosed role as a female villain will likely be one to anticipate in October.

Apart from these, there have also been a couple more kid actors, as seen in the Five Nights at Freddy's trailer, whose names remain unfamiliar for now.

Is Markiplier In the FNAF Movie?

Unfortunately, it was recently revealed that YouTuber Markiplier aka Mark Edward Fischback, turned down his role to be involved in Five Nights at Freddy's given the scheduling conflict.

Though many fans would be disappointed considering that he's known as 'the King of FNAF' for his horror game series on YouTube, here's what he had to say on his own YouTube channel:

"It was supposed to happen. There was a time it was supposed to occur, and unfortunately, the Five Nights at Freddy's movie and my movie, Iron Lung, were being filmed at the exact same time. It was nothing more than it just so happening to be a conflict of schedule."
"There's no animosity between me and the crew, and Scott, or anything like that. It just didn't work out. That doesn't mean I don't support it. It doesn't mean I'm not cheering for it."

When the night shift starts, the nightmare begins. Can you survive five nights?

The thriller horror game was released in 2014 and since then, has become a massive hit.

Playing the main protagonist as a night shift security guard, players should keep watch of the animatronics in one room - where the security monitors are set in place.

The main task is to sit through each monitor and catch the animatronic mascots moving under your watch. Because if you fail to keep an eye on even one of these monstrosities, they come for you.

Considering that this is a live-action supernatural game, not much of the story is facing any changes when it hits the big screen. That said, here is the official synopsis for the Five Nights at Freddy's movie:

The terrifying horror game phenomenon becomes a blood-chilling cinematic event, as Blumhouse - the producer of M3GAN, The Black Phone, and The Invisible Man - brings Five Nights at Freddy's to the big screen.
The film follows a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. While spending his first night on the job, he realizes the night shift at Freddy's won't be so easy to make it through.
