The last two months have been nothing short of crazy for the DC Universe. From James Gunn and Peter Safran's appointment as co-heads of DC Studios to Henry Cavill's surprise cameo in Black Adam which immediately sparked speculation surrounding his full-time Superman comeback, it seemed like the franchise was finally stepping in the right direction after years of failing to hit the mark with fans and critics.

The excitement quickly turned into dismay after The Hollywood Reporter revealed that the "new" DCU will be undergoing a massive shake-up moving forward. According to the outlet, multiple projects have been canned by the studio, including Wonder Woman 3 and Black Adam. The anticipated Man of Steel sequel is reportedly up in the air as well and as it stands, Henry Cavill is no longer in the running for a grand DCU return.

Following the shocking development, DCU fans stormed social media to express their displeasure. Naturally, they are targeting The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker director and even got the hashtag #FireJamesGunn trending on Twitter. Did Gunn truly hit the final nail in the SnyderVerse's coffin or is there still hope for it to be restored? Check out some of the reactions below:

THR also reported that DC Studios will make its official presentation next week and the intriguing plans for the DCU will finally be unveiled. As of writing, Gunn has yet to confirm nor deny the report on social media so of course, it's still best to take this one with a huge grain of salt, despite the fact that the report is coming from a very reliable source.

Meanwhile, Black Adam is now available to stream via Amazon Prime Video's "In-Theater Movies at Home".
