Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot has got to be one of the most talked about and speculated Marvel Cinematic Universe projects in recent memory. Since its official confirmation in late 2020, there have been persistent reports about the film's main cast with several big shot names all being rumored to be in contention for the First Family.

As it stands, casting details still remain scarce but with the film set to hit production in early 2024, it would be safe to assume that the actors who will breathe life into the roles of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm will finally be revealed.

Now, the reboot's director Matt Shakman is finally breaking his silence on all those crazy casting rumors and it looks like we'll have to wait a little longer to find out.

In an interview with Collider, the WandaVision director finally addressed all the rumors surrounding the reboot's cast, saying the casting is still in its early phase. While he didn't confirm anything just yet, his statement is pretty much an indication that everything we've read online is false.

Shakman shared: "All the casting stuff you see is just rumors. We are early in our process there. We have nothing to announce right now, and certainly, when we do we’ll let you know."

It's worth noting that Kevin Feige previously stated that no casting announcements will be made until the film's script is completed. While we don't know the screenplay's status, I think it's pretty safe to assume that the film's writers are well on their way to finishing it.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
