Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been itching to get updates regarding the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot which will finally see some of Marvel's most iconic characters crossover to Earth-616. So far, details about the highly anticipated project have remained scarce but that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from spinning.

Now, a new report seems to shed light on just how important the project is not just for fans, but for people within Hollywood as well, most especially actors. The Hot Mic podcast's Jeff Sneider claims that Elvis star Austin Butler has begun campaigning for the Johnny Storm/Human Torch role with his agents determined to turn it into a reality.

The specifics were not disclosed but according to the insider, a who's who of Hollywood actors all want to be part of the MCU's Fantastic Four and X-Men reboots which are described as the "two crown jewels coming up". Interestingly, the lead-up to the Multiverse Saga's final film Avengers: Secret Wars will reportedly feature the original Fox Fantastic Four.

I gotta say, Austin definitely has that spunk and natural charisma in him that would make him a good choice for the role but of course, the ball is still in Marvel Studios' court and at the end of the day, it's Kevin Feige and his team of casting directors who call the shots.

As it stands, it doesn't look like the studio is in a hurry to make official casting announcements soon and San Diego Comic-Con 2023 seems like the most logical venue for them to enveil Earth-616's First Family.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot is slated for theatrical release on February 14, 2025.
