Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have grown incredibly impatient with the lack of casting updates surrounding the Fantastic Four reboot. Despite the project being announced in late 2020, Marvel Studios has yet to make the big reveal although the rumor mill hasn't stopped spinning.

Just last month, it was reported that two of the project's frontrunners — Adam Driver and Margot Robbie are no longer attached to the anticipated MCU film. Now, it looks like another bet just lost contention for their role, adding more drama to the already frustrating casting process.

Take this one with a huge grain of salt but according to r/DCEULeaks (a DC source, yes), Daveed Diggs is no longer vying for the role of The Thing.

The leak (via Comic Book Movie) claims that Andor star Ebon Moss-Bachrach is the new frontrunner to play Ben Grimm in the 2025 revamp.

No other details were disclosed about his potential casting but it's worth noting that Moss-Bachrach is of Jewish descent, making him a good pick for the part since The Thing also has Jewish heritage in the comics.

As it stands, names like Matt Smith, Vanessa Kirby, and Paul Mescal are all said to be attached to the project although nothing official has been set in stone.

Unfortunately, with Marvel Studios skipping this year's San Diego Comic-Con, and the SAG-AFTRA strike set to commence, it looks like we'll have to wait a little longer for the casting announcement to be made. It's quite frustrating but we're hoping the studio will at least choose a set of actors who will bring justice to the First Family.

Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four is currently scheduled for release in theaters on May 2, 2025.
