Fans Can't Get Enough of Christian Bale's Gorr The God Butcher Following Thor: Love and Thunder Premiere

The long wait is finally over because the much-anticipated return of Chris Hemsworth's Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder has finally arrived in theaters. Alongside Hemsworth's titular character, the film will also see the comeback of several Thor-centric characters like Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie, director Taika Waititi's Korg, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. If that's not exhilarating enough, the Marvel film will also be Natalie Portman's return as Jane Foster — set to wield Mjolnir and take over the Lady Thor title.

But what's a Thor film without a villain? Joining the already ensemble cast, critically-acclaimed actor Christian Bale is set to set foot into the world of superheroes again, but now as a spine-chilling villain, Gorr The God Butcher.

Prior to the film's theatrical release, the hype for Bale’s villainous role constantly expanded as the film approached theaters. Given Bale's range as an actor, of course, fans are fascinated by how the actor would bring the menacing Gorr to life. Now, a few hours later after Thor: Love and Thunder premiered in theaters, fans are already applauding Bale's performance as Gorr:

According to the fans, despite the bare screentime, Bale absolutely delivered a compelling performance as an MCU villain, which we all anticipated. In comparison to other Thor villains like Hela and Malekith, Gorr undoubtedly bested them all in terms of origins and horrifying motivation, and his tremendous power is something we wish to see more in the future of the MCU.

For now, we won't spoil anything about the film. But regardless of the ending, we're sure that fans would certainly love to see more of Gorr. Given the fan reception to Christian Bale's villainous character, Marvel Studios must have more plans readied for Gorr The God Butcher.

Thor: Love and Thunder is now screening in theaters worldwide.
