Fans were caught off guard when it was announced that Bob Iger would be stepping down as CEO of Disney. Iger has apparently picked a successor in the form of Bob Chapek, and the internet is apparently not too pleased when it comes to Chapek being the new head honcho.

It's also worth noting that the stocks for Disney have dipped ever since the announcement.

While Iger has been credited for ‘saving' the Disney brand, a lot of people have less than friendly things to say about Chapek. It's been said that Chapek is notorious for cutting costs, and everyone is afraid that this will affect how Disney is going to be run. As some suggest, Chapek has made Disney more profitable, but he has also made the customer experience worse.

Of course, we don't know how Chapek will run the company now that he's at the head. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. If anything, some have been suggesting that he's been groomed for this job for a while, and the reason that Iger took so long to retire is that he had to help facilitate the merger with 20th Century Studios as well as the launch of Disney+.

Personally, I have no idea how to take it. I don't know enough about Chapek to form a proper opinion, but I'm eager to let him try and impress the fans. If nothing significant happens, I'm sure the investors will find someone more suitable to replace him.
