Evan Peters NOT Playing Quicksilver in WandaVision?

A rumor had come out not too long ago that Evan Peters (X-Men) would be making an appearance in the Disney+ miniseries WandaVision. While a lot of people were sure that he would be playing his version of Quicksilver in some kind of multi-verse scene, it looks like that isn't the case.

According to Knight Edge Media's Caleb Williams, it's likely that Peters will be playing a new character entirely. Here's the post:

We don't know who he could be playing, but some speculate that Peters could very well pull off the villain of the series, granted his previous work on American Horror Story. Even the GIF used in the post is from AHS so it's possible that could be a hint.

Personally, I would have preferred if they didn't have a villain in the story and rather just have Wanda's grief as the ‘villain' of the show. Marvel films always have some kind of exterior force to battle, and with the franchise going more experimental with Disney+ shows, it would be great if we had something as self-introspective as a character dealing with grief.

Then again, a villain could pop up in the end to tease a future instalment. What if Peters is set to play Nightmare and his appearance would be a tease for Doctor Strange and the Multi-Verse of Madness? My guess is just as good as anyone's for now.

While it hasn't been officially confirmed if Peters is in the show or not, the show is expected to come to Disney+ sometime before the year ends.
