Chloe Zhao's "fascinating" pitch for Eternals was one of the reasons why Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige moved forward with the film. The director's vision will be brought to life in February 2021 and will bring an element from her childhood to the film's style.

In a new profile piece from The Hollywood Reporter, Zhao talks about her vision for Eternals, adding that the movie will be influenced by her love for manga. "I have such deep, strong, manga roots," she said. "I brought some of that into Eternals. And I look forward to pushing more of that marriage of East and West."

Zhao's love for manga goes from way back to her childhood, hoping to bring that into the MCU film. The director was allowed creative freedom for Eternals too and she plans to go "further and bigger" than Avengers: Endgame.
