Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have introduced Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran) as one of Finn's (John Boyega) love interest, however, it seems like Lucasfilm may be planning another awkward love triangle by adding a third character in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.
Earlier this year, Lucasfilm announced that The Rise of Skywalker would be bringing Naomi Ackie into the galaxy far, far away as the character Jannah.
According to a report by Movie Web, a leak suggests that this new character is going to form a "close bond" with Finn in Episode IX as the two are tasked to take on a mission together involving the Super Star Destroyer of General Pryde.
"General Pryde's Super Star Destroyer is the rumored target of Finn and Jannah's mission, and it will reportedly be revealed that she was either a former Stormtrooper or that they once tried to kidnap her, and she made an escape," the supposed leak reads, "However that plays out, she has a vendetta against the First Order and their Supreme Leader Kylo Ren."
This means that Lucasfilm is building up towards a love triangle between Jannah, Finn, and Rose and it seems like it might be as awkward as the triangle between Han (Harrison Ford), Luke (Mark Hamill), and Leia (Carrie Fisher). Reports are going around saying that Jannah might actually be Lando's (Billy Dee Williams) daughter, and now, Movie Web says that Finn might be the scoundrel's child too.
If the rumors are true, then we may have a call back to the sibling love that Star Wars fans got to see in the original trilogy. Let's wait and see.
