2018's Solo: A Star Wars Story has its fair share of critics but the Han Solo origin flick gained a strong cult following through the years. Now, it's safe to assume that the film will no longer spawn a sequel despite performing decently at the box office but there's always a chance that Disney+ will pick it up somewhere down the line. Speaking of, just this week, fans were stunned by the jaw-dropping revelation that Han's original love interest Qi'ra is still alive and well following the events of Solo. The character appeared on Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters #1 which is set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

The news was delivered to actress Emilia Clarke who expressed her delight after learning that the Star Wars character she portrayed just made her shocking comeback. In an interview with ComicBook to talk about her upcoming comic book series MOM: Mother of Madness, the Game of Thrones star had this to say: "It means so much. It means the absolute world. I know her backstory. I know her history. Maybe the movie didn't get to go there, but that was such an honor and a privilege to be part of that universe as an actor. So then, to see the character actually be taken on to the origin of all of it — bringing it on home to the family in that way — cemented it in a way. I was not expecting to feel as moved as I was by that."

We still don't know what the future holds for Qi'ra in terms of live-action but taking into consideration Lucasfilm's massive Star Wars expansion through Disney+, the chances of the character getting her own spinoff series are extremely likely. The fact that Emilia is also doing an upcoming MCU project helps her case since Marvel and Star Wars are both under the House of Mouse banner. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how everything plays out but I'm sure Qi'ra will always have a place in the franchise.

Meanwhile, Emilia Clarke is set to appear in Marvel Studios' Secret Invasion.
