Elizabeth Olsen's future as the Scarlet Witch in the MCU remains in the shadows for now, but the actress recently reflected on how her WandaVision role threw her a 'career curveball'.

The Scarlet Witch Star Felt Like "Marvel's Weird Cousin"

An Agatha spinoff show wouldn't have been made possible if it weren't for WandaVision's success on Disney+.

Considering the harsh conditions the crew had to go through, Wanda and Vision's miniseries' victory calls for an expansion of its world.

"No one forced me to do that!" Elizabeth Olsen said when asked to explain why the Disney+ show I have made a choice to continue on with Marvel, and they've made a choice to continue on with me."

Olsen went on to explain that she felt "we were Marvel's weird cousin", where they didn't think WandaVision "was going to have such a response."

Neither did Kathryn Hahn, when she made her Marvel debut as the harbinger of darkness, Agatha Harkness. But thanks to her charm (and don't forget the iconic theme song, Agatha All Along), the spinoff was made possible.

"It came out during the pandemic and it almost had way more relevance to everyone's lives; [we were all] trying to function," Olsen added, "And then there was this world outside of a bubble [we were put in]. No one even knew what reality was at that point!"

Now, while it remains to be seen whether we'll actually get to see Elizabeth Olsen return to the MCU, there's a chance that she at least shares some form of connection to Agatha's new henchman, 'Teen' aka the character played by Heartstopper's Joe Locke.

Although fans already have a clue as to how Teen could be related to the Scarlet Witch (as Wiccan aka Wanda's reincarnated son), Locke denied confirming anything from fan theories, "I shouldn't be the one to comment on them until it's the right time."
