Elizabeth Olsen: Disney+'s WandaVision to Start Shooting This Fall

Scarlet Witch has been a character overshadowed by others when it comes to the Avengers films, but she's getting the spotlight in the form of a Disney+ miniseries called WandaVision. Elizabeth Olsen talks a bit about the show and even gives us a possible runtime for the entire series.

Talking at the red carpet during the Avengers: Endgame premiere (via The GWW) Olsen revealed that WandaVision is aiming to start shooting this fall and that the show is estimated to run for a total of six hours—basically six episodes.

We don't have any idea of what this show is going to look like, but some concept art for the series that had been screened at the Disney+ presentation was said to give off a feel of a 1950s sitcom. While I don't think this show is going to be a period piece, I think it's going to delve right into Wanda's reality altering powers—something she's known for in the comics, but is rarely explored in the films.

Hopefully we get a good look at just what Scarlet Witch is capable of in the MCU. With her powers basically rivaling that of Doctor Strange, it would be great to see her do something besides lifting things with her mind. I mean, she did mind control a bunch of people in Age of Ultron, but where are those powers now?

No release date has been set for WandaVision, but with a production set for this year, we could be looking at the show coming out sometime next year.

Avengers: Endgame comes out April 26.
