Fans might be busy gushing over Henry Cavill's version of Geralt in Netflix's The Witcher series, however, we've yet to receive official word about Superman's return to the DC Extended Universe. While most are looking forward to see Cavill as the Man of Steel again, Black Adam star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson would rather much tease fans saying that the future of the DC Extended Universe is his anti-hero.
Taking to Instagram, Johnson decided to share a picture of himself preparing for his role in the DC movie franchise, showing off a picture of his jacked body training for the role. Posting the picture on the social media site, the Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star teases a shift in the hierarchy of power in the DC Extended Universe, saying that a new era is about to arrive.
Check out the post down here:
"New era. The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change. Same game different levels. Same hell different devils. #antiherotraining #dcuniverse #blackadam Shooting starts this summer. @jonbrandoncruz," Johnson wrote on his Instagram post.
This isn't the only post that Johnson's made showing off the effort he's making to prepare for his role as Black Adam. Last week, The Rock also shared a picture of himself at the gym, this time with two massive dumbbells on each knee. In the older post, Johnson reveals production for his Black Adam movie begins this summer.
For those who aren't familiar with the character, Black Adam is an antihero often considered the arch-enemy of Shazam, otherwise known to DC fans as Captain Marvel. Johnson's Black Adam failed to appear in the DCEU's Shazam movie, but we can't help but wonder whether or not Zachary Levi's Shazam will make any sort of appearance in Black Adam.
