One of the most anticipated shows adapted from a webtoon is the upcoming Doona! series. Right now, we know very little about the show including the Doona! cast. If you're curious to know more about the show, we'll be talking about the people who star in this Kdrama.
Doona! is an upcoming Kdrama that was adapted from a famous webtoon called The Girl Downstairs. The romantic drama is directed by Lee Jeong-hyo, who also worked on Crash Landing on You, Life on Mars, and Romance is a Bonus Book.
So who stars in Doona!? Here's what we know about Doona! cast right now.
Bae Suzy as Lee DooNa
Bae Suzy is a former member of the pop group, Miss A. As an actress, she has starred in two other Netflix Originals: Vagabond and Start-Up. Before becoming a celebrity, Suzy was an online shopping model.
She won succeeding awards for Best Actress at the 2012 Baeksang Art Award and 2013 MBC Drama Awards. In the 2016 Baeksang Art Awards, she won Most Popular Actress and Instyle Best Style.
After Miss A disbanded in 2017, Suzy signed a contract with Management SOOP. She also released her first solo album called Yes? No?. She took a four-year break and returned to singing in 2022 with her song, Satellite.
Yang Se-jong as Lee Won-joon
Yang Se-jong stars opposite Bae Suzy as Lee Won-joon. He is a freshman at the university who moves into a shared house with DooNa.
You might remember Se-jong from Dr. Romantic, My Country: The New Age, and Thirty But Seventeen.
But before he became an actor and model, Se-jong was actually active in Taekwondo competitions. In fact, he received a scholarship from The Samsung Foundation. Unfortunately, he turned down the offer to focus on acting.
Lee Yoo-bi
Right now, we don't know yet what Lee Yoo-bi's role is in Doona! This series also marks her debut in a Netflix Original series.
Yoo-bi started her acting career in the 2011 show, Vampire Idol. She has gone on to star in other dramas Somehow 18, A Poem a Day, and Pinocchio.
Yoo-bi is the daughter of Im Young-gyu and Kyeon Mi-ri, both of which are actors. On the maternal side, Yoo-bi is a descendant of the Hwanggan Kyeon clan, which makes her a descendant of Gyeon Hwon, the first king of the Hubaekje Kingdom.
