Meet Nanahoshi Shizuka AKA Silent Seven Stars
Nanahoshi is a Japanese girl who found herself among those rescued by Rudeus Greyrat from an imminent collision with a truck in his past existence.
Yet, in a twist of fate, she was whisked away to this other world sometime after Rudeus, marking the onset of the Mass Teleportation Incident.
In Asura Kingdom, she finds Orsted, who teaches her the fundamental knowledge of this new world, prompting her to embark on a journey alongside him in pursuit of a means to return to her home.
Does Nanahoshi Return to Earth in Mushoku Tensei?
In Episode 15 of Mushoku Tensei season 2 part 2, Nanahoshi has a terrible nervous breakdown after her teleportation experiment results in failure.
Rudeus realizes that Nanahoshi might have been overworking and is unable to crack the magic circle that would initiate teleportation.
Eventually, Rudeus’ classmates are called in to help solve her magic circle puzzle.
Zanoba advises using compound circles, a technique involving the layering of multiple magic circles, which he acquired through studying the doll.
Upon mastering this innovative approach, she finds renewed inspiration and collaborates with Rudeus and his classmates to revamp the circle.
Finally, during her next experiment, she can summon a plastic bottle from the modern era, sparking hope that she might eventually return to her home in Japan.
Unfortunately, in the Mushoku Tensei light novel, it is revealed that despite Nanahoshi’s earnest attempts she is unable to find a way to return to Earth.
She finally speculates that her friend, Shinohara Akihito, might have teleported into the future and saved a version of Miko with time-rewinding abilities.
Nanahoshi theorizes that she was summoned into this world to create the teleportation device, and her inability to return stems from her future self’s supposed return with Akihito.
Meanwhile, Nanahoshi’s fate stands as one of the significant unresolved plotlines in Mushoku Tensei.
