We know very little about the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and it looks as if Marvel Studios is in no rush to announce news about the sequel's production considering the project is scheduled for release next year. Now, the film's lead actor Benedict Cumberbatch is shedding some light on the production status of his second Doctor Strange film which is said to be Marvel Studios' first Horror superhero flick.

In an interview with Watch Time India, Cumberbatch excitingly revealed that he's already in the pre-production stage for the sequel, and cameras are expected to begin rolling by the end of October or early November. He said: "I'm in pre-production with the second Doctor Strange film, which is very exciting. We will start filming in late October or early November." Great news!

Cumberbatch's revelation seems to confirm and prove the authenticity of earlier reports from several insiders who claimed that the MCU flick will be filming at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom sometime this year. Now, that's awesome news considering a lot of Marvel fans are eagerly awaiting the film which will also feature Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch. It also makes sense for them to get working on the sequel despite the streak of delays Marvel Studios projects have been experiencing since WandaVision is just around the corner. Of course, you all know by now that the Disney+ show will tie directly into Doctor Strange 2. Hopefully, things go according to plan 'cause I'm honestly pumped for this film.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is scheduled to premiere in Spring 2021.
