We're only two weeks away from the premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and aside from all the chaos that will ensue in the film, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are actually curious to see whether or not Hollywood icon Tom Cruise will actually appear in the flick. Rumors about the Mission Impossible star being Marvel Studios' original choice to play Tony Stark is no longer a secret to a lot of fans and according to the latest scoop, his Iron Man prophecy will finally be fulfilled.

There have been conflicting reports about Cruise's actual involvement in the film with the latest being that his rumored cameo has been removed from the sequel's final cut. According to GeokosityMag, Tom's appearance in Multiverse of Madness was deleted because it didn't serve that much importance to the film's arc.

That specific rumor was quickly debunked by Twitter tipster MyTimeToShineHello whose reports have all been reliable. According to her, none of it was true. Interestingly enough, she didn't tell whether or not Tom is actually playing a variant of Iron Man.

Personally speaking, I'd love to see Cruise jump ship to the Marvel Cinematic Universe because I feel like he'd be a great fit for the billion-dollar franchise. And quite frankly, he's done everything there is to do in Hollywood except star in a comic book film project. Sure, there's only going to be one Robert Downey Jr. but the idea of Cruise finally playing a character he turned down over a decade ago intrigues me.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness premieres on May 6, 2022.
