Doctor Sleep Director has Met with WB to Direct a DC Movie

If you've paid attention, you'll notice that there's this new trend of hiring horror directors to direct superhero films. They did it with Spider-Man: Far from Home, Aquaman, and Shazam!, and now it looks like another horror director could be in line for a DC film.

According to The GWW's Thomas Polito, Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan had met with WB to talk about helming a DC film. Here's the tweet:

He also posted what Flanagan said about the meeting:

We don't know what Flanagan has in mind to direct, but hopefully, it's something that best suits him. Guardians of the Galaxy's James Gunn (who also has a horror background) has revealed that he was given a choice of any film to direct for DC, and that's how he ended up with The Suicide Squad. What are the odds that Flanagan was given the same option?

If you ask me, maybe he should take on a completely different franchise rather than take over something that's previously been tackled. Give him The Green Lantern Corps or that Booster Gold film. Then again, if he really has an idea that he believes in, maybe he can take on something big like Superman. Henry Cavill needs to come back.

For now, catch Flanagan's Doctor Sleep when it comes out Nov. 8. He also has another Stephen King film, Gerald's Game now on Netflix.
