We're all hyped up for Alfred Molina's return as Doctor Otto Gunther Octavius in Spider-Man: No Way Home since it means he'll be facing off against a new Peter Parker. Interestingly, it looks like Doctor Octopus will be ready for the technologically-advanced incarnation of the webslinger. A new photo of Doc Ock offers a better look at his new tentacles that might be connected to a Marvel Cinematic Universe icon.
We are finally learning a bit more about Spider-Man 3 thanks to Empire magazine's special issue focusing on the sequel. The issue also includes a new photo of Doc Ock and this time, we get a clear look at the upgraded tentacles. Check it out below.
Notice anything different about the tentacles? Doc Ock originally had silver tentacles when we met him in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2. However, the villain will be getting fancy red and gold tentacles in No Way Home.
The new tentacles' color scheme already has people wondering if it was made by Stark Enterprise. After all, those are Iron Man's signature colors. In addition to that, we have already seen the new Spider-Man suit Tony Stark gave Peter in Avengers: Endgame and it had gold details similar to these tentacles.
So could this mean that Doc Ock is somehow connected to Tony Stark or at least Stark Enterprise? It's an interesting thought but fans are convinced that Tony or his company would never work on something for a villain, especially not one that would go after Spider-Man. Still, it's an interesting new look and we can't wait to find out more about Doctor Octopus.
Doc Ock is not the only Spider-Man villain who will appear in No Way Home. It had already been confirmed that Jamie Foxx will reprise his role as Electro in the upcoming sequel.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will also star Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jon Favreau, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, and Benedict Wong. The film is scheduled to premiere in theaters on December 17, 2021.
