Many have long been wondering if Maomao and Jinshi will become a couple at some point, but Pairin and Lihaku’s relationship got a lot of interest recently.
That’s because Lihaku was the central figure in the show’s latest episode, which featured some hilarious moments.

Does Pairin Like Lihaku?
Compared with other Apothecary Diaries characters who are schemers or have ulterior motives, Lihaku is a more straightforward character. After all, Lihaku’s only wish is to be with Pairin from the Verdigris House.
Lihaku’s feelings aren’t new. In the anime’s latest episode though, Lihaku confides in Maomao the extent of his feelings, to the point that he wants to buy Pairin out after hearing someone else may want to make a move.
It’s clear that Lihaku is in love with Pairin, but does Pairin share his feelings? Episode 22 did not show Pairin’s inner thoughts, but it clearly established that the feeling is mutual.
This is because Maomao said so herself in the latest episode’s ending scene. She even says that Lihaku only needs luck instead of 10,000 silvers to finally end up with Pairin.
What’s more, the episode’s hilarious scene where Maomao is checking out Lihaku’s body confirms that the two are a good match physically.

The feelings between the two are clear, and it seems like they’ll end up together at some point. Based on the events of the light novel though, Pairin and Lihaku have not yet ended up together.
This isn’t too surprising given that they're side characters, meaning the focus is more on Jinshi and Maomao instead of the two.
Still, there may be some interesting developments to come soon. That’s because Lihaku continues to visit Pairin at the Verdigris House, so the connection between them continues to strengthen.
As for when they’ll end up together, it’s anyone’s guess at this point. What’s clear is that we won’t see much of them in the anime, as only three episodes are remaining.
Based on the latest episode’s scene, the finale of The Apothecary Diaries anime will center around the relationship between Maomao and Lakan.
