While the new Netflix series revolves around the socially awkward 15-year-old girl, this teen story also involves a little romance. That said, do Harriet and Nick end up together in Geek Girl?
A new model meets the nephew of legendary fashion designer Yuka Ito and sparks go flying the longer they meet at the most random events. Their romance may not have been the main story to tell, but it was definitely worth pursuing. Here's the difference between the book and their ending on the Netflix series!
Harriet and Nick's Love Story on Netflix
Nick Park (played by Liam Woodrum) is the main love interest of Harriet Manners (Emily Carey) in the Netflix series. They first met at the fashion show where Nick saw Harriet knock over the hats meant for their runway and went to ask her if she was okay. They shook their hands and then the rest was history.
Since then, they would meet each other now and then at different gigs and shows, which eventually built up their relationship as friends before they even got their first kiss on the show.
Of course, you can take a guess that by the end of the ten-episode series on Netflix, the two meet up again on the runway to share their first kiss, with Harriet no longer caring about being labeled as a 'geek' and Nick coming back for her.
When Nick asks if Harriet's okay after he takes off the paper that says "geek" on it from her back, she says she's "perfect" and pulls him into a kiss on the show.
As Harriet said when they were happily walking through London, "This is just the start of a brand new chapter," which goes along with what the book has in store for these two.
Considering they just started dating, there's surely more to come once Geek Girl season 2 has been confirmed, eventually.

How Did Harriet and Nick's Romance End in the Novels?
Things went down differently in the books: their first meeting was quite unconventional, under the table at The Clothes Show.
Plus, Nick's confession of liking Harriet has something to do with her being "different", in which he also admits he fully accepts the good and the bad about Harriet, seeing how she always makes him laugh in an endearing way.
Unfortunately, in the books, Harriet and Nick do end up breaking up at one point. Not in the way you think, though. While they share a kiss at the end of the first book and start dating right after, it is Harriet who breaks up with Nick so he can go back home to Australia.
Considering that he doesn't want to spend time apart from each other, Harriet knows how much Nick has to return to Australia.
They don't talk during their break-up at all but eventually reunite when Nick saves Harriet from drowning at her underwater photoshoot. This pushed the two of them to reconnect once more and by the end of Holly Smale's novel series, they undoubtedly got back together.
In the end, Nick went to Plymouth to study marine biology while Harriet left for Cambridge so that they wouldn't have to spend their time apart.
For now, it remains to be seen whether the show will follow the plotline of the original Geek Girl novel series or not. We'll just have to wait and see once they announce if season 2 is in the future!
