Meet Angeline: The S-Rank Adventurer Who Can’t Seem to Find Her Way Home

17 years ago, the Red Demon Belgrieve discovered a crying baby in the middle of the forest.

He thought that it was an illusion from a pixy, but what he discovered was a real abandoned baby with rare black eyes and hair in a basket that had so many leaves working as protection charms.

Belgrieve adopted the baby and named her Angeline. They were together for 12 long years until Angeline decided to go to the Royal Capital to become an adventurer.

Belgrieve's adoptive daughter wanted to follow in his footsteps and become a strong adventurer capable of protecting the weak.

Five years later, Angeline accomplished her goal. She became an S-Rank adventurer under the Orphen Guild.

She also gained two comrades: Annie (Anessa), the archer of the group and the one who takes care of difficult negotiations, and Millie (Milliam), the mage of the group capable of using lightning magic.

Now known as the Black-Haired War Maiden, the swordsman Angeline uses everything she learned from her father to finish multiple guild requests.

She also makes it a habit to inform everybody of her father’s name in honor of his skills and abilities.

But as Angeline’s adventurous career blossomed, the responsibilities on her shoulders also got heavier. In short, Angeline can’t go home despite planning to see her father so many times in the past five years.

The main reason Angeline can’t go home is the lack of powerful adventurers in the Orphen Guild.

While the number of demon beasts has increased, the number of skilled and capable adventurers is on the decline. There are only useless adventurers in the guild, much to Angeline’s dismay.

Basically, the Orphen Guild has been running a one-man show with Angeline in the center for a year now.

She’s the only one capable of bringing down disaster-type monsters and conflicts, with a little help from her party members.

From fighting a wyvern that appeared inside Garda Town to killing humongous ants, Angeline’s hands are full. She also accompanied Seren, the third daughter of the Bordeaux family, to her sick father.

Despite this, Angeline believes that it’s only natural for strong adventurers to help those weaker than them.

Besides, Angeline can’t imagine her father being very happy knowing that she abandoned everyone because she missed him.

Does Angeline See Her Father Again?

Thankfully, Angeline does see her father again in My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer.

Following the defeat of the Demon Lord, Angeline was able to schedule a vacation with Annie and Milly to see her father again in her hometown, Tornela.

In addition, the guild master of Orphen also established a parliamentary system and stopped running its one-man show. The other adventurers, including those who retired, also returned to let Angeline take a break.

Upon reaching Tornela, Angeline finds out that nothing has changed and everything has stayed the same, just like when she left the village five years ago.

It was only her height and hair that had grown, but her feelings hadn’t changed.
