Disney+ to Bring Back The Proud Family

Besides bringing back The Clone Wars, it looks like Disney+ is ready to bring back a Disney Channel original that kids from the early 2000s loved.

As per The DisInsider, Disney is set to bring back The Proud Family with The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder. The series is set to bring back original showrunners Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar, and the two had said in a statement:

"In our minds, the show never really went away, as we still had tons of stories left to tell. It's the perfect time to bring back this show, and we can't wait to take fans, old and new alike, on this journey with us."

If you don't know what The Proud Family is, it was a Disney Channel animated sitcom which focused on young Penny Proud and her zany family. The show was known for its great humor as well as its modern take on diversity and inclusion.

We don't know if the story will pick up with Penny still being young, but I would love to see her all grown up along with the rest of her family. It would be interesting to see how The Proud Family navigates itself in the modern era, especially now that there's a more scrutinizing lens when it comes to entertainment.

Disney+'s Senior VP of content Agnes Chu also says, "The show's humor and relatable stories are as relevant with audiences today as ever… Our audiences have loved rediscovering their favorite episodes of ‘The Proud Family,' and we're excited Bruce, Ralph, Calvin, and the returning cast are creating new stories for their new home on Disney+."

No release date has been set for The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder, but you can catch the original seasons on Disney+ now.
