Disney Reportedly Planning To Buy Spider-Man Back From Sony

It looks like the whole Spider-Man drama is not quite over. A new report claims that Disney is determined to bring the webslinger back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is actually willing to buy the rights to Spidey from Sony.

Back in August, it was confirmed that Sony had decided to take Spider-Man back after they failed to make an agreement with Disney. Although Sony's decision seemed final, a new report from We Got This Covered reveals that Disney is coming up with a different way to deal with the problem. This time, the House of Mouse is reportedly planning to buy the rights to Spider-Man from the other studio.

It might seem like a drastic method since Disney had previously refused the massive amount required for the rights to Spider-Man. On the other hand, some believe that Disney might be desperate enough to try it in an effort to keep Spidey in the MCU. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend taking this with a grain of salt.

Spider-Man has been a major player in the MCU since his debut in Captain America: Civil War so it's easy to understand why Disney wants to keep their hands on Peter Parker. In addition to that, a previous report claims that the studio was hoping to team Spidey up with Captain Marvel to make the latter more likeable.

We'd be interested in seeing Spider-Man working with Carol Danvers. However, that partnership now seems unlikely after the divorce between Disney and Sony. In the meantime, we're just hoping that Spider-Man 3 will be awesome.
