After winning the multi-million defamation lawsuit he filed against his ex-wife Amber Heard, it looks like Johnny Depp is ready for his major Hollywood comeback. If you may recall, in the midst of his highly-publicized issues with the Aquaman star, the 59-year-old actor lost high-profile movie roles, including Gellert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise and most famously, his role as Jack Sparrow in the celebrated Pirates of the Caribbean film franchise.

As it stands, we still don't know whether or not Depp will actually make his return to acting anytime soon but according to an interesting new rumor, it looks like Disney is having a change of heart and is bringing Depp back to the 'Pirates' franchise.

According to a report from Australian outlet Poptopic (via New York Post), Disney is offering Depp a whopping $301 million to reprise his iconic role in a future project. It's worth noting that the House of Mouse is doing a supposed reboot film starring Margot Robbie so take this one with a fine grain of salt.

After the defamation case verdict was served earlier this month, fans have been banging on Disney's doors in hopes of the company reinstating Depp after he was unceremoniously removed from the franchise in 2018. Quite frankly, it's the most professional thing to do, and from a business standpoint, it will also benefit Disney because a lot of fans missed seeing Johnny as Jack Sparrow.

Hopefully, this is the true start of Johnny Depp's Hollywood redemption because he totally deserves it.

Meanwhile, all Pirates of the Caribbean films can be streamed on Disney+.
