Disney Plans To Continue Alien, Planet of the Apes, And Other Fox Film Franchises

Pop culture fans might be concerned about Fox's film franchises like the X-Men now that Disney's completed its acquisition of 21st Century Fox, however, it seems like they shouldn't be that concerned for the Alien and Planet of the Apes film franchises.

Disney just recently held a presentation at this year's CinemaCon and during their time up on stage, the studio revealed that there were definitive plans to continue some of Fox's major film franchises like Planet of the Apes and Alien.

Not only that, but according to Fox's Emma Watts (via The Hollywood Reporter), Disney also has plans to continue franchises like Avatar and Kingsman as well.

"We intend to do our part, and it is in that spirit that we will continue to create new stories," Disney confirmed during its panel.

Of course, fans shouldn't be that surprised about the Avatar franchise. James Cameron has other Avatar sequels on the way – where else would the films go aside from Disney? The Kingsman movies have also been quite a hit. So it really doesn't shock us to hear that the Mickey Mouse House plans to continue the franchise under the Mickey Mouse House banner.

Our only question right now is for the Planet of the Apes and Alien film franchises, both of which don't have any film's set for release. What could Disney have planned for the two pop-culture film franchises?

We can't wait to hear more about the Mickey Mouse House's new films for Avatar, Kingsman, Planet of the Apes and Alien.
