Disney Marketing Head Breaks Silence After Eternals Spoiler Leak

It has been common knowledge that you shouldn't mention spoilers to those who have not seen the movie or TV episode that you just watched, especially when it's Marvel, DC, or Star Wars where there are usually top-secret details or surprises that are being kept from the public. Unfortunately, during the recent world premiere of Eternals, there is a reporter from a reputable publication that tweeted a very crucial spoiler regarding the film's post-credits scene after the screening and it led to a backlash condemning the behavior.

The incident has been the main discussion around social media among critics and journalists. Now, Asad Ayaz, the president of marketing at Walt Disney Studios, has spoken about the issue in which he reminded all those who are attending the advanced screenings ahead of the film's release to not reveal the spoilers and surprises. It is unfortunate that things like that have to be reminded again since it is pretty much a golden rule among the fan community, critics, and journalists to be respectful of those who have not seen the film by not revealing the spoilers. Especially if you're a critic or journalist who is watching films or TV shows in advance, you have to respect the embargo and not reveal any crucial spoilers or details when you do your review. It is essential to preserve the viewing experience for the general audience who are watching it soon.

In the case of Eternals, it will not be released in theaters for two and a half weeks so it is disappointing that someone (especially from a reputable publication) would publicly reveal a huge spoiler that would have been a great surprise when the audience finally see it. As of the writing of this article, the tweet has not been taken down and it already has more than 48,000 retweets and 75,000 likes which means a lot of people have probably seen the spoiler.
