Disney+: Marvel Also Working on 'Miss America' Series Focused on Latina Superheroine

D23 came with the reveal that Disney+ was getting more Marvel series in the form of She-Hulk, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel, but it looks like there was one more superhero that didn't get an official announcement.

As per The GWW, Disney+ is also working on a Miss America series focused on the reimagining of the Golden Age character, America Chavez. We don't have any details on how far the show has gone yet, but seeing as how full Marvel's plate is right now, I won't expect anything for Miss America until late Phase 5.

In the comics, Chavez was raised by two mothers in an alternate dimension called Utopia, and her powers allow her to open portals to different realities. We don't really know how they plan to introduce her to the MCU, but I have a feeling that she could be linked to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, seeing that Marvel Cosmic could be jumping into alternate realities.

I think it's also worth mentioning that Chavez herself is a lesbian, so you can add her to the list of MCU's LGBT heroes including Valkyrie and one male character from Eternals that hasn't been revealed yet.

For now, Marvel Studios seems to have a solid plan for the next two years. The first series coming out is The Falcon and The Winter Soldier which is aiming for a fall 2020 release. The first movie is Black Widow which is set to hit theaters on May 1, 2020.

Miss America has not been officially announced, but Disney+ launches on Nov. 12 this year.
