Did Alex Ross Just Confirm the Spider-Man 4 Comic?

Marvel recently rocked the comic book fandom when it released an ominous looking "4" teaser that was clearly about Spider-Man and not the Fantastic Four. Considering how the "4" is completely covered in webs, many fans are assuming that it's Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 and it will be a comic book rather than a movie. This will likely be revealed in Marvel's September 2018 solicitations.

Speculation on the comic book is at an all-time high and that was maximized when legendary comic book artist Alex Ross tweeted (then deleted) new Spider-Man art that is inspired by the Raimi films. As if that wasn't enough, Ross even put #SpiderMan4 on the tweet and fans can check out the art below (thanks, ComicBookMovie).

That's definitely a Kristen Dunst-looking Mary Jane, while the costume is clearly inspired by the Raimi films. Seriously, if this isn't a comic book telling of the never-released Spider-Man 4 then it will be a massive disappointment. I mean, do we really need another Spider-Man/Fantastic Four team-up comic book? Those are fun but they don't always need a mini-series.

We can probably expect more news when Marvel decides to reveal their September 2019 solicitations. Expect a lot of fans to look forward to that, especially if it actually reveals Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4 in comic book form.

Can Edgar Wright also release his Ant-Man adaptation in comic book form? PLEASE?!
