Detective Pikachu Artist Reveals Danny Devito Inspired Designs for The Beloved Pokemon

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu managed to do the impossible and make Game Freak's beloved creatures look realistic and adorable. From the movie's title star to Bulbasaur, Treecko, and Jigglypuff, all these Pokemon looked great, which made all of us wish these creatures were real. However, while Ryan Reynolds was very good in the role, there are still a lot of people who wanted to see Danny Devito play the iconic Pokemon.

Turns out that Devito was considered for the role, with artists like RJ Palmer actually designing the title character to fit Devito's voice. Palmer was one of the artists involved in designing the film's realistic Pokemon and he decided to share some of the Devito designs he had in mind for Pikachu.

Fans probably remember how the internet has been wanting Devito to voice Detective Pikachu since the 3DS game of the same name came out. When that didn't come into fruition, fans were hoping to see Devito play the role in Legendary's now hit movie but that also wasn't meant to be, though Ryan Reynolds more than made up for it.

Now, fans want Devito to be Wolverine. That's a horrible idea and one that wouldn't work to any extent but hey, the internet will do whatever it can to solicit a laugh from people.

Pokemon: Detective Pikachu is now showing in theaters.
