There is little doubt that Nezuko from Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is one of the most popular shonen characters today. That popularity means that Tanjiro Kamado's demon sister is subject to numerous memes that are quite famous in their own way. Amazingly, the anime decided to bring one of those memes to life in Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 5!
The manga is known for adding some cool extras at the end of the chapter. This is especially true with the Mugen Train story arc when Tanjiro finds himself back in the forest that he dreamed about when he was under Enmu's spell. That's when he suddenly encounters a gigantic jacked-up version of Nezuko who proclaims she will protect him.
Thankfully, Tanjiro awakes to find that his sister is still her adorable self and he is relieved to see that her chin didn't turn into a butt. Since then, the manga's extra panel has turned into a meme. Buff Nezuko has even turned into a popular choice for muscular men in cosplay.
Amazingly, we just got the animated version of the extra in Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 5. It is included as the post-credits scene where Tanjiro usually shares some gossip from the Taisho period and announces the next episode.
It's awesome to see Buff Nezuko in the anime and it was certainly a hilarious way to end an episode that left us with a tense cliffhanger. Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 5 concluded with Tanjiro and Inosuke Hashibira working together to locate Enmu's vulnerable spot and severing his spine. However, it also caused the train to derail, putting everyone on board in danger. Needless to say, we can't wait for what will happen next week.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 2 Episode 6 is titled Akaza and will feature the arrival of the Upper Rank Three demon. The next episode will premiere on FujiTV on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 11:15 PM JST.
