Delicious in Dungeon has new opening and ending themes as the second half of season 1 begins.

With the show’s 14th episode, fans got to see the colorful new opening and ending animations. As a bonus, creditless versions have also been released officially online.

While it may be sad to see the previous themes go, the new songs are also great alternatives for fans.

Previously, Delicious in Dungeon got the popular Japanese band Bump of Chicken (of Spy x Family and Kekkai Sensen fame) to perform the opening song, Sleep Walking Orchestra.

For the new opening, the series tapped the Japanese band sumika to perform the song Unmei (or Destiny in English).

The band sumika has also performed themes for other anime over the years.

These include the ending for My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising, the opening of Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku, and the second opening of A Couple of Cuckoos.

Unlike the first opening animation, which featured more snippets of upcoming events, the new opening features more stylized and fun animated sequences.

Of course, there are still nods in the new opening to the new arc’s story, as well as appearances from important characters.

The anime’s first cour had an upbeat ending courtesy of the song Party by Ryokuoushoku Shakai. This band is also best known for performing the first opening song of The Apothecary Diaries.

In comparison, the second ending song, Kirakira no Hai (Glittering Ashes in English) is a more mellow track by Regal Lily, the band behind the third ending theme of 86.

Here’s the creditless version of the ending:

Unlike the new opening, which features a major departure in look, the show’s second ending credits scene has the same style.

Like the previous one, the new ending is essentially a slideshow of gorgeous artwork, but this time, it features more characters that will play a big role in the second cour, including Kabru's party and more.

Of course, it’ll be a while before most fans get used to the new songs, so it’ll be interesting to see how opinions shape up by the end of the show.
