Dean Cain clapped back at John Oliver after he was criticized for his decision to join ICE in last Sunday's episode of Last Week Tonight.

The former Superman actor has been under fire following his announcement that he is joining the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to "help secure the safety of all Americans" and encourage others to do it as well. He has also been a notorious Trump supporter for the last several years and a prominent voice among the MAGA community.

During the recent episode of Last Week Tonight last Sunday (via EW), Oliver poked fun at Cain's decision to join ICE and reminded viewers of the state of his acting career in recent years.

"You know, there's an old saying in Hollywood: 'If all you can get is Dean Cain, you are f***ed.' Now, I'm not saying that ICE isn't finding people," the host quipped in his monologue about the current immigration policy in the US.

"I'm just saying, when you are reduced to pinning a badge on the 59-year-old star of The Dog Who Saved ChristmasThe Dog Who Saved Christmas VacationThe Dog Who Saved the HolidaysThe Dog Who Saved HalloweenThe Dog Who Saved Easter, and The Dog Who Saved Summer, maybe you are in trouble."

However, Oliver also found a "positive spin" on Cain's decision to join ICE since he suggested that he wouldn't have any issue concealing his identity.

"No need for that guy to wear a mask because the chances of anyone recognizing him are f***ing zero," he joked.

Oliver ended his monologue by suggesting how people should respond when an ICE agent knocks at their door.

"Attorneys told us the only two things you should say to them are: 'Am I free to leave?' And 'I want to speak to a lawyer.' That’s it. You have the right to remain silent," he said.

"And I recognize that in some cases you may be unable to help yourself from saying: 'Didn’t you used to be Superman? I thought you died.' But that really is it."

How Did Dean Cain React to John Oliver's Criticism Against Him?

Several hours after the episode aired, Cain responded to Oliver's criticism of him on Last Week Tonight in a post on X.

"He stole that mask joke from the internet -- and he also laughed hysterically when Trump said he was going to run for President. Case closed," he wrote.

The former Superman actor also made a remark on Oliver poking fun at his Dog movies: "Those movies were sweet, by the way!"

Oliver is not the only key entertainment figure who has criticized Cain's decision to join ICE. John Leguizamo and Margaret Cho have also spoken out against the former Superman actor.
