A concept art for Deadpool & Wolverine revealed that a female version of Juggernaut almost made an appearance in the film.

The fan-favorite villain had a small part in the recent MCU film as one of the members of Cassandra Nova's army. He was killed by X-23 during a major fight sequence involving the members of the resistance.

The version of the character that we saw in the film was different as Vinnie Jones wasn't able to reprise the role. Instead, he was portrayed by bodybuilder Aaron W. Reed and he had no speaking lines.

Concept artist David Masson San Gabriel shared new concept art for Deadpool & Wolverine on his recent Instagram post, revealing that there were plans to feature the female version of Juggernaut.

While that take on the character didn't end up appearing in the film, the concept art showed what the version would have looked like.

"I was asked to do a concept of juggernaut from x3 but as a woman, it didn’t end up in the movie, but ngl this could be pretty badass!!" he wrote in his caption.

There were no reasons provided regarding why the plans for a female version of Juggernaut in the film were scrapped.

While a female version of Juggernaut would have been an intriguing idea, perhaps they scrapped the plans due to the character's limited screen presence and would rather just feature the traditional version

At the very least, fans were able to get a glimpse of what the different take would have looked like in this concept art.

Months before its release, Vinnie Jones revealed that he was in talks to reprise the role in Deadpool & Wolverine, but he ended up declining the offer.

"Funnily enough, I just got asked to do Deadpool, the new one now, and I spoke to the director and I just said it's such a drama putting that suit on mentally and physically," he said.

"I mean it had its mental toll as well because you're in it and you can't do anything all day, you can only drink through a straw. So we couldn't strike the deal for Deadpool."
