It's been a crazy couple of days in the DC Universe after Warner Bros. Discovery officially ushered in a brand new era for the film and television franchise. Last week, James Gunn and Peter Safran were named as co-CEOs of the now-rebranded DC Studios with the pair expected to make serious changes within the DCU.
As it stands, Gunn and Safran have yet to lay out their long-term plans for the DCU but things are looking extremely promising with the old regime out of their power. In a statement Gunn and Safran released (via The Direct), they made it clear that they're committed to showcasing the franchise's five most popular characters: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and Harley Quinn. Interestingly, characters like Joker, Cyborg, and even The Flash weren't specifically mentioned by the duo.
The statement reads: "We’re honored to be the stewards of these DC characters we’ve loved since we were children. We look forward to collaborating with the most talented writers, directors, and actors in the world to create an integrated, multilayered universe that still allows for the individual expression of the artists involved. Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, and the rest of the DC stable of characters is only equaled by our commitment to the wonder of human possibility these characters represent. We’re excited to invigorate the theatrical experience around the world as we tell some of the biggest, most beautiful, and grandest stories ever told."

By no means is Barry Allen a slouch but it's quite understandable how the Scarlet Speedster wasn't mentioned, especially with the whole Ezra Miller situation still plaguing the franchise.
Meanwhile, this major declaration from Gunn and Safran erases concern within the fandom that the franchise will be going in the same direction Hamada previously envisioned. If you may recall, there have been rumors that the former DCEU will take a completely different approach with Supergirl, Batgirl, and Wonder Woman serving as the "new" trinity.
DC's The Flash is scheduled for release on June 23, 2023.
