DC Fans Mourn Shocking Passing of Batman Voice Actor Kevin Conroy

DC fans received quite the heartbreaking news today as Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in several media passed away at 66. The actor is often credited as the definitive voice of the caped crusader, beginning his storied DC career in 1992's Batman: The Animated Series. Unsurprisingly, the actor would go on to voice the beloved character in various projects, including animated films and video games, and even made his only live-action appearance as Bruce Wayne in the Arrowverse's Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover.

Per reports, the actor died following his short battle with cancer. While it's been a number of years since the last time he voiced Batman, the beloved actor has been actively attending geek conventions and meeting fans from all over the globe.

On Twitter, longtime fans of BTAS mourned Conroy's passing. A lot of them are extending their gratitude to the actor who was pretty much the voice of their childhood. Check out some of the tweets below:

As someone who grew up with shows like Batman: The Animated Series, Batman Beyond, and Justice League, I'm deeply devastated by Kevin's passing. I'm pretty sure that just like me, he was a lot of fans' first true introduction to Batman and his contributions to the character and its lore will forever be etched in our memories. Thank you for making our childhood amazing, Master Bruce. Rest in power.
