Henry Cavill's status in the DC Extended Universe has been a huge mystery for close to seven years now. Despite the completion of Zack Snyder's Justice League seemingly signaling the return of the Last Son of Krypton to the main DCEU timeline, Warner Bros. and DC Films have never addressed his fate in the franchise much to the chagrin of fans.

It's already common knowledge to many that WB is set to reboot the Man of Steel and rumor has it that a Black Superman will be replacing Clark Kent in the main timeline. Well, it turns out that's not the case because according to the latest rumors, Sasha Calle's Supergirl will take over for Cavill's Superman and things will be made official in the upcoming The Flash project.

It's worth noting that the rumors about Kara Zor-El replacing her Kryptonian cousin have been on the radar since last year but despite that, fans still aren't thrilled over the possibility of Kal-El being erased from the DCEU's main earth. Taking to Twitter, fans of the British actor made the hashtag #HenryCavillSuperman trend anew as they protest against WB's alleged Superman plans. Check out some of the reactions below:

At this point, it seems like WB no longer cares about the DCEU making actual sense which is a damn shame because the franchise showed a tremendous amount of promise when it was first established. While the latest rumors surrounding it are quite worrisome, I still have faith that WB will do the right thing in the end and just listen to the fans.

Meanwhile, The Flash's release has been pushed back to June 23, 2023.
