There's no denying that The Flash is easily one of the most hyped-up superhero films in recent memory but despite all the momentum it had going for it, the DC Extended Universe project failed to captivate audiences only making over $262 million at the global box office.

Not even the cameos featured in the Ezra Miller-led flick were able to save the film from becoming the flop that it is. From Nicolas Cage's Superman to George Clooney's jaw-dropping return during the film's closing moments, The Flash included a slew of surprises that would have had any fan on the edge of their seats.

Speaking of the surprises, it's already safe to say that fans weren't entirely thrilled with the easter eggs and references the film had but surprisingly, the DC fandom unanimously agree on the film's best cameo and it's someone you wouldn't expect.

On Twitter, DC diehards finally settled the score and despite The Flash being a colossal failure, they agree that director Andy Muschietti's surprise appearance in the final act is the film's only redeeming quality.

In case you missed it, Muschietti plays a reporter during the closing sequences of the film as Barry was on his way to court. Speeding through the city, he steals a hotdog sandwich from Muschietti in the hilarious scene.

Meanwhile, despite The Flash's underwhelming performance, it looks like James Gunn and Peter Safran still have faith in Muschietti as he was recently tapped to direct DC Studios' Batman: The Brave and The Bold.

Of course, you couldn't exactly put the blame on Muschietti for The Flash's box-office disappointment but the old Warner Bros. regime would have handled things quite differently.

DC's The Flash is now available on digital platforms.
